Hey everyone! Little chaotic start to the show but we're on track now with tiny bells. So great to see you all today!

it's a shame the segues on the drummer stream aren't seamless, because Bob's show into neighbor's noise would be perfect

I'm in a noisy room (window AC) but I what I hear sounds more like insects than bells. Going to try headphones.
  Swag For Life Member 2:18pm
WR:

Same. General sounds seems more like insects with sporadic bell like ding. Very interesting.
Avatar 2:18pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

hey WR! I think they're like very tiny bells, sounds like it's merging with the insects. Here's a photo: miduno.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm
coelacanth∅:

it blends in. i have a 100-tiny bell wind chime.
it's a familiar sound!
  2:23pm
Mr. Oxford:

Hello all!

I like how the miduno piece also had sounds of people speaking etc. I wonder if this piece is being sold in CD as well in Japan. I've heard CDs are still big in Japan.
  Swag For Life Member 2:23pm
WR:

Yes, I think the cicadas are fairly constant, making hard to hear the bells, and the bird calls adding punctuation. Listening more carefully am able to sort the bell and cicada sounds.

Ha and then you throw us into the surf and I think I hear the cicadas on slow fade.
Avatar 2:26pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

I'm all out of sorts today so unfortunately you're gonna get tossed about a little. Surfs up my friends
Hey Mr. Oxford!
  Swag For Life Member 2:26pm
WR:

The recorder (Miduno) has bandcamp and also puts recordings on youtube and other online sites. He has a large number of recordings online.
  2:40pm
Mr. Oxford:

Haha hide n seek counting! Nice capture in the sound recording.
  Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
WR:

Yes, that was nice a playground recording. As enjoying, I realize that if I made just a little effort, I could walk to the park 3 blocks away and watch the kids and families there as well as listen to the playground sounds.
  Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
WR:

Reading Lawrence English description on the link, recorded in the Amazon jungle in 2008.

Jesse Kaminsky:

This A Mirror Holds The Sky is a truly incredible album
  2:50pm

Seems like Lawrence English has also done a collaboration album with Merzbow. That is neat!
  Swag For Life Member 2:53pm

You must have played something from this Yellowstone recording before, I find I already have it in my wishlist.

Kids have the darnedest games. I overheard a game "you be the rapist and we'll swim away from you..." when I was watching kids playing in a swimming pool.

oh, Lawrence English... didn't register. i have an album called "peregrine" which i listened to almost every night for maybe a few years. i mentioned the artist to a show host on the drummer stream (i don't recall who) a few years ago but never heard any feedback about it.

mic_a:

The Miduno track was a good preview of tinnitus for those of you who aren't 'blessed' yet. I had to crank it way up to distinguish it from my built-in chirps and chimes.
  3:11pm
Kat in Chicago:

Ah these are the sounds I didn’t know my afternoon needed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
chresti:

The boy in the pool had other ideas though,
Yeah coel, I liked to play "I'm the missionary and my little brother was my slave" when my 3rd or 4th grade class was learning about the California missions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm
coelacanth∅:

jeez, i'm in another world right now. Lawrence English did a piece that begins my sleeptime playlist almost every night. this track reminded me of it.
it's called "patagonia". the album's "viento".
...i made a piece pretty similar around 15 years ago. was going to post it to bandcamp but then i heard patagonia and didn't bother!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm
coelacanth∅:

chresti that's scary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm

Thank you, Jesse. Must comment on how the percussive sounds on some of the tracks, particularly on Gael and TWR72, had so much sound of the drum, although I'm fairly sure no drum skins were hit during the making of those tracks. Onward.
