what year did it close? i think i recall walking by it when I was living in Brooklyn circa 2011 and marveling, but could have been during an earlier visit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm
Gary:

Man, that's a great question. I honestly do not know the year it closed. I moved to Queens in 2010 and I think it was still around then, but I honestly can't remember my last visit there.

Zipperhead7:

Hi Gary and Bodegans! Ah yes,the perils of research. Infinite regression . . . in an attempt to get all information on a given topic, you practically end up when the first fish crawled out of the water. And THEN there's the peril of being intimidated by people far more knowledgeable than you. I've abandoned a bunch of projects for those reasons. But any work worth a damn begins out of an obsession.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm
Gary:

Zipperhead!
  8:29pm
Listener Gregory:

I can assure everyone that I enjoy this show a great deal without doing any research or, indeed, having any idea what is playing. Once I try to find those things out for some music, the rabbit hole of research keeps getting deeper and never ends.

One project I wanted to write on was the Tower of David (Torre de David), which was intended to be the anchor of aWall Street-style development in Caracas. But construction halted and it turned into the world's first highrise favela. Media accounts used it as a blank screen to project hopes and fears regarding late modernity. It's a great story waiting to be told
