The league has reached a point where owners are incentivized not to even try to field the best team. It's a disaster. Love the game. Hate the sport. How it goes. (Of course, in my perfect world, two teams from each league make the playoffs, the league championship is best of seventeen and the WS is best of thirty-three. Let the numbers count!)

My team was and will always be the late 90s/early 00s Yankees with Derek Jeter, Tino Martinez, Paul O'Neill, Jorge Posada, David Wells, Scott Brosius etc... I don't see that same drive and passion in the game anymore, so it doesn't interest me anymore.

	10:42am Handy Haversack: A couple of years back we were canoeing on a long pond in Maine. The wind really kicked up, which made getting to one end of the pond pretty easy, but then we had to make the turn (broadside to the wind) and paddle back against it. Things got pretty hairy as we found an angle for that turn that wouldn't capsize us. And it turned out that the wind must have blown all the fish to that end of the pond because all of a sudden at the tensest moment, I realized there were like four bald eagles flying VERY LOW INDEED as they hunted. All I had the wherewithal to do about was shout, "Bagpipe, look unappetizing!" as we muscled the rest of the way through the turn. Elemental stuff!

	10:42am Handy Haversack: A couple of years back we were canoeing on a long pond in Maine. The wind really kicked up, which made getting to one end of the pond pretty easy, but then we had to make the turn (broadside to the wind) and paddle back against it. Things got pretty hairy as we found an angle for that turn that wouldn't capsize us. And it turned out that the wind must have blown all the fish to that end of the pond because all of a sudden at the tensest moment, I realized there were like four bald eagles flying VERY LOW INDEED as they hunted. All I had the wherewithal to do about was shout, "Bagpipe, look unappetizing!" as we muscled the rest of the way through the turn. Elemental stuff!
