Hi chresti! Hi Hy! We may not see Rich on the board this morning as I think his power is still out

Rich lives in the woods, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm

Yes indeed, chresti (sounds like a pope/catholic/bear/shit joke punchline but that is indeed accurate)

@Taylor: That's steep. Next thing you'll tell me there's a tax on Glen Passaic (I have a trusted supplier to evade those)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm
ironybread:

Hi WR!Fred - you mentioned GP on another chat board and user adamdoesit responded with a definition of a drink called "Psychotic Episode": "2oz Glen Passaic, 1/2oz Kohutian bitters, 1/2oz absinthe, shaken over ice and strained severely." But I can't seem to Google Glen Passaic, please elucidate

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
ironybread:

Aha! So basically to prepare this drink, one walks outside the bar, grabs a bit of Passaic in a jug, mixes, serves, and dies instantly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
fred:

@Taylor: Glen Passaic is a whisky made from water from the Passaic river, so toxic. It's a fictional beverage served at the Stork Club. I thought I coined it, but adamdoesit probably came with it first
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
chresti:

A Stork club specialty, barrels of Glen Passaic

*from the
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
ironybread:

"In April 2014, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a $1.7 billion plan to remove 4.3 million cubic yards (3.3×106 m3) of toxic mud from the bottom of lower eight miles (13 km) of the river". Dudes I'm delighted you may eventually get a clean river but I'm not paying $1.7 billion for a drink, I just don't live in that tony a neighborhood
  Swag For Life Member 1:42pm
WR:

Key part of chresti's link is clue to important ingredient. "$1.7 billion plan to remove 4.3 million cubic yards (3.3×106 m3) of toxic mud from the bottom of lower eight miles (13 km) of the river." $1.7 billion to extract key ingredient makes GP a totally top shelf elixir but putting such a volatile liquid on the top shelf is not recommended. Etc.

Ah I see you found the info.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm
ironybread:

Yeah me and some buddies could totally get a round of that for each other of a night out. Or pay the entire state budgets of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm
chresti:

I believe it's on the house at the Stork Club?
  Swag For Life Member 1:48pm
WR:

But WFMU is strategically located so that Stork was able to siphon off a significant reserve for us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
fred:

We at the Stork Club are not paying for the cleanup, we're not into that capitalist speculation

Hi-dee-do, puzzlers and boxers! Yes, we were listening to the stream last night awaiting Rich’s arrival, and tho he couldn’t make it, folks aplenty stuck around anyway, all the way to the end. Good luck to good sir Rich, I would NOT want to be without power where I am now (hell-o, 100F heat!)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm

By the time we reach the middle of this movie, the touches are generally non-consensual, yes
Avatar 2:14pm
Mr Fab:

Speaking of Rich, and that Alice pic, we were discussing on his show recently how the once-proud word “hipster” has been highjacked. So what should those people be called? Rich says he calls em “condo commandos.” Others asked about “yuppies,” but those are the office lawyer types. I use “Yutsies,” for Young Urban Trendies. Tho if you wrote “Alice In Yutsieland,” ppl would be confused.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm
ironybread:

Fab - I think Yutzies is the clear winner, let's make it canon
Avatar 2:17pm

Ha, ok. Was also trying to come up with something like “gentrificons.”

George is truly a wunderkind but man, his drum skilz are very very good

@WR: I said "fun" but we had to stop chatting once because it was grim. French people are still not ready to deal with the gritty details of colonization. Even those who were not even born then. And now abortion rights (wrong word, I just don't know the right one) By now it's not "give me a break", it's like "these skulls need a break". Hopefully like a breakthrough. But really at this point I'm like get over with it, have your fun and bash my head in
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm
ironybread:

Thanks for listening everybody and don't do that, it's dirty!
