It's also used to mean "play" as in playing an instrument: tocar la guitarra, for example. I remember one time, in Spain, this friend of mine who spoke really good Spanish but still had a couple of rough edges, was talking to this group of musicians, and meaning to ask them "Do you play often?" ("¿Tocan bastante?") he asked instead "¿Se tocan bastante?" or "Do you touch each other often?" Hilarity ensued.

I asked him about the size of his vinal collection. I started at 25,000...he kept giving me the thumbs up sign, as to signal higher, and I learned it was 130,000. It has at least doubled by now. I know it may seem silly to some people, but he may actually become the biggest vinyl record library on the continent, or Earth. And he is devoted. Again, affable bloke.
