Also, you'd have to check Wikipedia or HotrailsUK or whatever but pretty sure the original SWU preceded SFG. SWU had (Peter, Paul and Mary associate) Les Braunstein singing. After he was replaced by E Bloom they renamed to SFG for a bit to finish a second demo/debut attempt for Elektra.

John - my best LI/BOC story: Around 19/20 years old, I was working for Manpower restocking Dr. Scholls displays in drugstores all over Nassau County. I'd be visited at my parents' house by a guy handing over boxes of product for the stores. I don't know how I knew - I guess I knew his real name, and MAYBE saw a picture somehow - one day I asked him, "Are you Andy Panda?" He was shocked, chagrined, not pleased. "Grumble grumble, etc"

Van Winkle;-):

Attended an altogether different "blue cult" concert this past Mon...Jack White in full blue smurf mode...really only attended because i wanted to experience a coliseum show again as a flashback to my mid 70s concert experiences...I did the 2 lighter double double at the end of the multi-screen "performance"... ;-)
Never caught THE öyster...but Alice, Kiss, Lizzy and even Elton were great...in their time..."when they were hot".
Today's concert sound systems are many times better though...

I can't believe Handy is missing this show. He was just asking if I, and some friends, wanted to go see BOC...and gushing about them. In his Haversackian way. Great Show T-O-T!!!!

I saw BOC in the mid 70s at the colosseum in Montgomery AL. They were touring with Mott the Hoople. My friends and I moved from our nosebleed seats to the stagefront pit for their advertised "$400,000 laser light show". Buck Dharma shot lights from his ring that exploded in colors as they hit the sweet smoke above our heads. What a show!

Dan from Delco: There was a 2011 film called Roadie that also had a BOC subplot. It's about a stagehand who gets fired after 20 years on the road with BOC. More of a character study than a comedy. Bunch of BOC on the soundtrack, as well as some Good Rats.
