Howdy, glitter kittens!

Love the strangely woozy strings on that Teezers track.

Hey 👋 Glitter ✨ Kidz !!

Debbie Davenport:

I got this Lainey Walker record in the mail recently and it made me think of a previous show when you guys were talking about there was only a few black women in glam rock. I think she might be black. A short effort to research it turned up nothing on the topic.
Avatar 3:11pm
Naughty No No:

Lainey sounds black maybe kinda sorta idk 🤷‍♀️ she’s as white as they come though
Avatar 3:12pm
Debbie Davenport:

Ah. She kind of looks like one of my black cousins, but I believe you. The only other person I could think of is the black woman in Rah Band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm
Kat in Chicago:

Midwest power pop :)
Avatar 3:14pm
Mr Fab:

Yep. Chicago native Mrs Fab loves these guys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Kat in Chicago:

Do you Fabs ever come through town?
Avatar 3:17pm
Mr Fab:

20/20: LA power pop! These guys I fondly remember.

We haven’t been back on Chi-town in, oh, 12 years? She doesn’t really know anyone there anymore.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
Kat in Chicago:

Fair. I'm from NC/GA but I haven't been South since the early 90s.
Avatar 3:20pm
Debbie Davenport:

I like how the drums are recorded in this song. Wish I knew the lingo around that. Maybe what I like is how they mixed it. Or how they are being played. I don't know!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm
Rich in Washington:

I found both that Shoes and Taxi 7" in a huge box of 45s from a dead person whom a friend was caretaker for. Hundreds of so-so rock 7" and then this one big bunch in the bottom which were punk and new wave, and a smattering of skinny tie power pop.
Avatar 3:21pm
Debbie Davenport:

It's Noah!
Avatar 3:22pm
Mr Fab:

Really, Noah’s on this band?
Avatar 3:22pm

Now this is one I can recognize!
Avatar 3:28pm
Naughty No No:

I pleaded with Don not to do two in a row ooos
Avatar 3:29pm
Mr Fab:

Rich, I’ve noticed that goin thru personal record collections at estate/garage sales, etc.: 98% generic stuff, then a couple weird things in the back of the box, like some private press/lounge, highbrow jazz or soundtrack, foreign/ethnic records. Even thoroughly mainstream folk have their occasional odd moments.
Avatar 3:31pm
JukeboxFix:

Play another one, who cares! Light Speed or Barbarian!
Avatar 3:32pm

Austri-pop? At first I thought Noah said “astro-pop,” which def sounds like it needs to be a real genre.
