Good afternoon BB and fellow listeners! When I was but a wee lad, I thought Dave Davies was shouting "Oh yeah!" on the fade of Big Black Smoke. Many years later, I realized he was saying "Oyez! Oyez!" in the manner of a town crier of olde. Fascinating factoid? Maybe not, but that's all I got.

I like that description as well, but were Fairport not that hip...?

Gerry from Miami:

That Jocque and LeScott rendition of Ornette Coleman is the coolest thing I've heard since the late Charlie Haden's daughter, Petra, took on the entire "The Who Sell Out" album by the Who, rendered in vocal overdubs of all parts, both singing and instrumental. Amazing!

Gerry from Miami:

This Jr. Walker tune reminded me of the summer of '69, when I spent two months at Fort Ord, California, training to go to war in Vietnam. Somehow, over the constant, thick fog at night, we were able to pick up songs like "Mendocino," by the Sir Douglas Quintet and Jr. Walker's "What Does It Take(to Win Your Love For Me?") on our puny AM radios. Oh yeah, also can't forget to mention "Sugar Sugar," by the Archies.

@doctorjazz: Enjoy the birthday celebration! But stay off the Glen Passaic, it's dubious enough to start with, but if you get it from any place but the Stork club, with its renowned quality standards, you're taking a chance. Second hand dioxin is bad news
