@Handy yep! It was just a 3 day trip, mostly spent on the road. A bit bittersweet (as has other stuff been the past week). One of my friends we went to see has advancing Parkinson's. He's one of the original bad-asses, sad to see him now basically needing someone to cut up his meat for him. Still, great to see them, managed to have some laughs. Middle son (Evan) finally moved out this weekend (taking Mae with him and leaving us with the dreaded Frita). He was way past ready to move, but we'll miss him (and Mae). He's moving in with our eldest (Eliot), which is great to see them being close enough to live together.

Good Evening, Julie & all the Dark Nighters!

Julie, was tuned in last night during your fill-in and I have to say I was stunned when you played "Ring Bell" from that Goldie Hawn LP. Who would've known Goldie was such a talented singer with that beautiful voice of hers? Quite a contrast from the "ditz" image she put on during her stint on "Laugh-In". Obviously that was all just an act and she promptly shed that image for fear of being typecast, as she was already embarking on her movie career at the time.

Some bands lost their names to C&Ds because they allegedly appropriated the marks of non-musical entities, e.g., Salvation Army and Red Cross.

Some may know the band (really, a solo guy) M who had a hit, "Pop Muzic," in 1979. At that time my band in LA was dubbed M. We were dreadful, far less catchy than the hitmaker.

Mx. Baba Bee: I came up with it as a sarcastic rejoinder to X, a band I enjoy in very small doses. To this day I think their name is silly. Ooooh, X! How daring! How punk! X...as in extreme! So I thought, M...as in middling. We actually made a record, the first on Flipside Records, though the label doesn't promote the fact.
