Hello, Julie and other creatures of darkness.
Avatar 7:17pm

You hardly ever see the word "abattoir" used in the US. Sad.
Avatar 🦇 7:18pm

it's too fancy a word for what it means
Avatar 7:31pm

Julie, I know you know I was looking for job, but did you know I found a job?

It's always a good idea to hide disturbing concepts behind a French accent.

hiya SC Lizzie! What color is it now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
Sweet Corn Lizzie:

It's teal blue again - fades after 6 weeks or so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm
doctorjazz:

I haven't listened to Famous Blue Raincoat in eons! It's also highly rated for sound quality. For a while, in my geeky audiophile days, I'd go to audio shows, and every vendor was playing Famous Blue Raincoat or Paul Simon's Graceland, made them hard to listen to for a while...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm
TonyR:

Tonight's theme: Not the Original Cast.
Avatar 8:12pm
HyperDose:

Are you saying those geeky audiophile days are numbered, doc? Say it ain't so!
Avatar 🦇 8:12pm
Julie:

SC Lizzie oh I bet it's gorgeous! I used to have a bit of blue and purple in mine. I can't do it on my own and too hard to maintain during pandemic.
Avatar 🦇 8:14pm
Julie:

I tried pink once too but man it turned grey then green..UGH
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
doctorjazz:

Have no fear, HyperDose, still a geeky audiophile, but not as actively so...
Avatar 8:16pm
HyperDose:

Any background on that Floyd pic, Julie? Has to be Christmas, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm
Sweet Corn Lizzie:

Thanks Julie! I use Colorista and it's easy, you don't need to bleach. I put it on all over like conditioner. I was still coloring my hair "golden brown" (color like sun) when I started doing this and it shows up really well.
I saw someone today with long black hair that was red on the ends - beautiful.
Avatar 🦇 8:16pm
Julie:

probably! I just thought it was funny.
Avatar 8:18pm
Listener Gregory:

Hey, @doctorj, I have some speakers that seem broken (crackly, audibly distorted). Any idea on how to find someone who might repair them? Or are those days gone?
Avatar 🦇 8:18pm
Julie:

Mine is red with black underneath. I can't have just one apparently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
ParUbi:

Aww your 🐦
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
doctorjazz:

LG, check with an audio dealer in the area, someone they do repair (and sometimes not). What make speakers are they? Some manufacturers keep parts for older equipment and may even repair. (Depending on the problem, it might just be worth getting new ones. Replacing drivers can be $1-200 each of they need replacing. Sometimes the rubber around the fingers becomes stuff and needs replacing-that's a smaller job).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
doctorjazz:

(If they're not expensive speakers, it's likely not worth repairing them, but no harm checking with an audio dealer; if they don't do repairs, they likely know someone that does).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm
doctorjazz:

Gotta run, thanks, Julie!
Avatar 8:33pm
Listener Gregory:

Thanks, @doctorj. “Audio dealers” are increasingly a rare breed, but I do have a few I can check with.
Avatar 🦇 8:33pm

Avatar 🦇 8:36pm

the Dana record is being reissued for RSD (it's really hard to find the original). It's on my short list not that I'm going out tomorrow
Avatar 🦇 8:39pm
Julie:

hiya Steve! I like him but he can be way more country that I'd like. Still I find nice little gems, particularly the later stuff
Avatar 8:41pm
Listener Gregory:

NB: I have never been mellow.
Also, I will opine that Johnny Cash country music is great country music. IMHO
Avatar 🦇 8:41pm
Julie:

oh it's for sure better than contemporary country
Avatar 🦇 8:43pm
Julie:

I also like Hank Williams at times. Just never in the mood for it when I do my show
