Jan Turkenburg:

I would like to have one.

Well, I'm a big jugband fan and figured I wasn't going to learn banjo.... and took to heart some advice from Peter Stampfel... either learn uke or banjo

This is a different Carl. I had the wrong picture to go with Charlie and his Orchestra/Carl Schwedler. Just corrected it.

Enjoying the show on this busy day in the office. The boss has an Irish Wolfhound. Small children have called him 'horsey' because he's HUGE; almost 200 lbs and over 6 feet long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am

Well, The fact that it hasn't happened yet, doesnt mean it won't in the future. :-)

Jan are there a lot of songs about goats? Perhaps a general farm animal themed show would be more feasible…

@chresti whoever’s cutting their hair like that isn’t doing them any favors
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am

@chresti: Ah, the standard poodle is large while the miniature ones are so ubiquitous that people think they are the standard. It's so cornfusing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am

Actually more specifically thinking about Tokyo Rose... because somehow being recruited by Imperial Japan seems much stranger

Heard you say the Bobby Klein (Luut Moes) recording featured him at a younger age, but I didn't get the point that he was only about 15. A yodeling teen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52am
Jan Turkenburg:

From www.geheugenvandrenthe.nl...

"Pseudoniem of Luut Moes (Emmen 1941)

Singer, yodler. Was part of the Tiktak Shows from 1954 to 1956.

He was the youngest in a family of seven children. Both parents made music and also performed at festive events and dances. Luut learned to yodel by listening to Olga Lowina a lot. The Kok Family (Tiktak Show) offered him a contract in 1954. The first year he sang on the show for board, lodging and clothing. In addition, Bobby Klein performed in 1958 in De Bonte Zondagavondtrein of the AVRO radio and in other national radio programs.
When his voice broke, he was fired by Kok. He then joined the Spencer Trio. He retired in 1990."
