Of course my internet went out at the beginning of the show. I hate missing the voice overs.

Even though this is not remotely Japanese, I always think of Shonen Knife when I hear it.

Are you looking for one Cheree? I look for singles all the time and I already have that one. I can let you know if I come across another.
  4:07pm
Cheree July:

Oh no. Not necessarily.
  4:16pm
Kittimu:

did he just say the *song* the prettiest star was about brett smiley? (not to be confused with the book of the same name, which absolutely is)
  4:17pm
Kittimu:

anyone else hear that??
Avatar 4:17pm
Debbie Davenport:

yeah

Archies? Zombies? My two fave groups!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Did anyone see that recent movie Stardust? I hadn’t heard about it until this week. I thot it was pretty OK.
  4:22pm
Kittimu:

ok well that don't make any sense. the song was released in 1970, brett wasn't heard of until '74. the only person referring to brett as the prettiest star is nina antonia cause she used the song title as the book title when writing about him. correct me if im wrong
  4:27pm
Kittimu:

The bowie biopic stardust? I didn't like it. I don't think the casting was very good.
Avatar 4:28pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Kittimu, you may well be right. I might've crossed a few wires there. good lookin' out!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

The Bolan and the Mick Ronson were terrible! But the Bowie guy was pretty good, I thought. And an interesting period/concept to cover.
  4:31pm
Kittimu:

Hm, I didn't like the guy who played bowie. I think there were a lot of actors they could've chosen to look/act a little more like him
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I think you want to go with an unknown for a role like that. In fact, when they went to The Factory, I thot, “OK, who will they stunt cast as Warhol!” I hate when movies do that. You need someone who can disappear into the character. Anyhoo, roller skating!
Avatar 4:35pm
Debbie Davenport:

I agree about casting.

Mabel, Mabel, set the table

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm

Do you know about that Sweet book, Donna? That is my new holy grail.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I believe it was published inGermany or some other European country. Tons of great color photos
Avatar 4:47pm
Debbie Davenport:

I haven't. I'llcheck that out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm

I saw one on eBay for $1000 and another for $100.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I love those skate songs, but I can’t say I’ve ever heard a good one. I like the fad.
Avatar 4:51pm
Debbie Davenport:

that is wild. the price range.
I almost got Rave N Rock when this show was new, but had to wait Now I can only find it ranging from 200 - 500+. It was only like 15 or 20 a couple years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

I love this song…. Geez. People need to calm the fuck down. They drive the prices up by acting like greedy idiots.
Avatar 4:54pm
Debbie Davenport:

It's like real estate sometimes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm
Becky Ebenkamp:

Yep. That is exactly what I used to say about that. Stop the bidding. Calm down. We’ll all get our houses at a reasonable price.
