"NO! It's a Veg-O-Matic!!!"

...the writing is certainly adequate...
Sounds incredibly rich & effective. What a task to compose for this...

Love Fargo, but Barton Fink and then A Serious Man are my favorites
  8:15pm
Listener Robert:

So we'll never find out how it came out?
  8:16pm
Listener Robert:

I was kidding, but you're saying it really had a surprise ending!

ironybread:

Since there's a running reference in "The Yiddish Policemen's Union", which is set in an alternate present, to Orson Welles' film version of "Heart of Darkness", which was never made, and since the Joel & Ethan Coen version of "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" was announced but never made, it's only fair that Carter Burwell write a soundtrack for it anyway

There's one set in a fast food restaurant, Scotland, PA

We tend to forget that Shakespeare was writing what was popular entertainment for his time; he wasn't necessarily this Great Writer penning the World's Greatest Tales. Think of him more like Spielberg.... or perhaps Spielberg is a contemporary Shakespeare....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

He was an Entertainer who happened to be Thee Greatest Writer. & must have known something about that...

Listener Robert:

The way to maintain surprise in something like MacBeth is to game it. You'd shoot some extra footage, and in every theater a random choice would dictate which parts got shown. The audience would never really be sure what the characters were going to do, no matter how often the'd seen it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Spielberg is a hugely capable Film Director - who could've used more Great Writing often as not imho...

Sean:

The score for A Serious Man is one of my all time favorites!
