The cassette on now is the green one in the middle. It took me a while to see it, but the cover is an embryo in the womb.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:05pm
David (in London):

Yvang, James, Phillip, Nick. Saluations good people.

Look away for a few minutes and already missed "Untitled". Suitable title for the (by me) unheard.

As David i L wrote, salutations good people.

Ahoy there, WR!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:10pm
David (in London):

Digging this tape muchly already.

Hey WR

Is that the cover of White Noise's 'An Electrical Storm' peeping out from under the cassettes, Tony?
Avatar 12:13pm
Tony Coulter:

@ David: Yes! You've spotted the cover before I even asked if anyone recognized it. Congrats! You are the grand prize winner.
Avatar 12:14pm
Tony Coulter:

I guess you know your lightning bolts.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
David (in London):

Tony, I have two much older brothers who were music heads in the 70s, and one of them had that album. I loved it (and still do), even though 'The Visitation' scared the crap out of me as a kid.
🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
WR:

Regarding the embryo cover image, it does appear old school ultrasound, including green CRT screen. I also would not have seen it as an embryo (Multicellular diploid eukaryote in its earliest stage of development) without prompting.

Hmm. I've been following the tracklist as posted on discogs. But ... checking my cassette, I see it is wrong (the order is scrambled). The M.E.3 track just started. Will fix.
Avatar 12:59pm
Tony Coulter:

All fixed!
Avatar 1:00pm
Tony Coulter:

That'll teach me not to rely too much on discogs. I do it so I can just cut and paste the titles.

I do Tape Hiss shows every other week. Otherwise, I'd probably never play these cassettes, as playing 'em during a regular show is a bit of a pain

Not planning to put 'em on itunes, no.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:05pm

After a quick research I found out that Edith Piaf's song "L'homme à la moto" is actually an adaptation of the song "Black Denim Trousers and Motorcycle Boots".

I miss having a PC. If I had one I'd download all the TAPE shows to keep on my ipod touch

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:11pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm
coelacanth∅))):

haha. did you drink and smoke?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:12pm

@ chresti: I thought it was S. Gainsbourg's power to make you drink and smoke.

I see a pattern in the use of K instead of C on the Kassettes trakklinstings.
Avatar 2:16pm
TDK60:

Chresti \\// There's a fellow in Manhattan who rides his bicycle around Central Park and nearby areas, playing Edit Piaf (and other such old music) on an old tape boom box. Kind of fun.
Avatar 2:17pm
Tony Coulter:

@ Yvang: Kinda like metal bands sprinkling umlauts everywhere, I guess.
Avatar 2:18pm

The cassette on now is the one with the negative image cover.

chresti, i as well. i still drink occasionally, and still want a ciggie occasionally.
'probably good for me that not many people at the pub smoke the only one i like (marlboro)

Do they make alcohol-flavored cigarettes? Or cigarette-flavored alcohol? For the two-in-one experience?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm

- reminds me of a time i asked for coffee at a restaurant in nyc. i wanted the "ethnic" kind, not the american...i'm thinking it was turkish, though i've enjoyed turkish coffee since then.
i thought for sure they'd just sloshed a little hot water in a dirty ash tray
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm

I remember these bubblegum cigarettes (a stick of bubblegum wrapped in realistic looking cigarette paper) that were loaded with powdered sugar, so that if you blew through them, it looked like smoke.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
Rich in Washington:

@coelacanth∅))): I make 'Turkish' style coffee often. It's how lots of the Middle East and Central Europe make coffee but often called Turkish in the west.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm

When I first moved to LA-east Hollywood in 76, I'd get Turkish style coffee at the Armenian deli.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm

@chresti: My favorite coffee of that style is an Armenian brand called Edna's. I was turned onto it by an Armenian pal who told me they call it Armenian coffee because the Turks killed so many Armenians.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm
coelacanth∅))):

i not-infrequently got turkish coffee from a turkish restaurant up here (that has now closed shop)
-and their american coffee was extra strong, and extra good too.

but that first experience was awful!
...maybe they didn't want my long-haired, tourista-ass in their establishment
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm

@coelacanth∅))): the little general store I grew up near sold 'em bulk style for 1 cent each. I remember my mom being horrified by them and refusing us to buy them.
