	3:54pm still b/p: Mitchell was recipient of Kennedy Center Honors, with the pandemic-limited event happening just a few days ago. I didn't know if she was seen in public anywhere in last few years. She spoke briefly on the occasion of her hard road with the serious health setbacks.

	4:02pm Funky16Corners: @TDK60 - One of my favorite things is how Joni turned the who singer/songwriter thing on its head. Everyone thought of her as a "folksinger" but she was so much more, and evolved as an artist in spectacular ways over the course of the next decade. A certifiable genius
	4:03pm prudy: Joni is a shaman...very difficult but otherworldly...I feel that way about Dylan also...
	🥁 4:03pm David Shortell: I'm not sure what a pork pie is, but I know Robert Crumb said goodbye to his own old-fashioned hat after watching Terry Zwigoff's documentary about him. Overwhelmed by a desire to start a new chapter in his life and kill his old image, he literally threw his trademark hat off a cliff (and grew a beard).

	4:03pm still b/p: Exactly, on time marchin' on, Larry. Had that with a Neil Young photo the other day "Whoa! Hey, him and me both!" www.google.com... That's him...not me. re susceptibility to not just age, but viruses: Someone I hugged last weekend found out he was positive a few days later. The worry doesn't dominate, but the moment of learning such a thing...is a definite concern-spike moment.

	🥁 4:14pm David Shortell: The vehement folk-singer caricature in “Li’l Abner”, named Joanie Phonie, resembled neither Joan Baez nor Joni Mitchell–though Baez threatened to sue nevertheless. I think Frank Frazetta was ghost-drawing for Al Capp by that time in 1967 anyway.

	4:31pm still b/p: On her website, there's indignant talk of the whitewashing of Jan. 6th, and then we learn she's painted an image of injured and traumatized DC police officer Michael Fanone. "As part of her effort to keep the truth of that day in the public eye, Joan Baez is releasing this portrait as a limited-edition print.....The edition is available at $350 unframed plus $26 shipping.....A portion of the proceeds will go to The Trauma Research Foundation.⁣" A portion.

	4:41pm Franco Twinkie: I read this: Phil was smitten with Linda Ronstadt(Like everyone else) As if he wasn't there sitting right in front of her, Linda said to a third party in a mocking tone 'Phil want's to go out with me, isn't that hilarious?' Ouch!

	4:42pm Discotech Underground: Drake used a lot of unique and unusual open tunings on his songs so they are not easy to replicate, which might be why there are not more covers of his material.

	4:42pm Funky16Corners: The world missed the boat on Nick Drake. No matter that he wouldn't/couldn't tour. His music was brilliant and beautiful
	4:42pm Funky16Corners: @Kip - His guitar playing was stunningly original
	4:44pm Discotech Underground: Drake was so painfully shy and reclusive he did no promotion for any of his albums which is why they didn't sell. He only did a handful of live performances, no TV and maybe one appearance on John Peel's radio show and that was pretty much it. Island didn't release any singles from any of the LP's either to give radio something to play.

Overwhelmed by a desire to start a new chapter in his life and kill his old image, he literally threw his trademark hat off a cliff (and grew a beard).

The worry doesn't dominate, but the moment of learning such a thing...is a definite concern-spike moment.
