There are also pirates at 90.9 and 91.3 (Haitian Kreyol, I think) somewhere around Elizabeth or southern Newark, and those cause problems too. But I'm not as familiar with those.

I wish. The FCC is seriously understaffed. They catch a few pirates here and there occasionally but there are so so many of them. On any given evening, you can hear about 30 pirates just in Flatbush.

Nosehair Tirenoise:

@Dave in the '90's in Sacramento CA a group drove around in a mini van with mobile art exhibit wherever they pulled over, called, "Art Van Go" Pretty clever, however, they had to explain the pun everytime. doogh!

record them. would be cool to have some pirate air checks.

speaking of pirates, when i lived in bedstuy i would occasionally, through my speakers (NOT radio) pick up some dude who was in a truck down the street communicating through ham radio or something. was bizarre, funny and sometimes moderately annoying!

i also have a little box that you connect to a scanner that shifts the frequency so you can get cell phone frequencies, around 800 mhz where they used to be. the thing is worthless today.
