Harmonium ?
Avatar 🦇 7:34pm

that's what this is, but harmonium is a TYPE of reed organ, there are others. I think what Eliza played was probably larger and more organ looking. Harmoniums are more portable

Imasucker for the harpsichord, but not sure whether it was lurch or the stranglers that welded me in
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:40pm

Yes it became important to obtain all Hitchcock's CDs.
I knew not one other fan. Tho' I did see him in Santa Barbara in my starving CD Store employee years...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:42pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

If you're old enuff to have reference to 1960s Psych - harpsichord as you know was much in the palette...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:43pm

...I guess Lurch is right in there :D ...
Avatar 🦇 7:44pm

harpsichord is my favorite! I nearly bought one for the house but I hear they are delicate and hard to maintain

Maybe this was obvious about the Wayne King photo to everyone else, but it took me a minute or two to realize that it was the reflection of trees and a dark blue sky under some very obvious Autumn leaves floating on the surface of water.

You probly know that Piano is short for Pianoforte - literally SoftLoud - the novelty of being able to control the volume of the note with your own hands...
Avatar 🦇 7:50pm
Julie:

don't most instruments with strings have that, even if using hammers to play them?
  7:51pm
davefromtoronto:

stevie nicks always sounds like her nose is plugged. can't imagine why...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The mechanism in a piano is pretty complex ! On harpsichord - isn't kind of either On/Off @ one Volume however you hit the key? If not, time for me to be disabused... I hear you have to hit the key pretty hard too...
  7:55pm

Lovely to hear you tonight, Julie. I give thanks for you!
