There's a gang of cats that make the rounds, there's a Vietnamese place on the corner and the owner and family live across the street, so there's good eatin'.

  7:34pm
skyline chili:

ShelbyG: as you know there's a lot of fmu listeners that are cat owners, maybe some of them have cat trading cards as well that you might want to trade with. As for me I would love to have a cat, except for no pets allowed where I'm at. And even if I could I would be hesitant about getting one because it's just not a safe place for an animal.

Hi Uncle Michael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm

Hi, Bas. How's Utrecht?
Avatar 7:49pm
Ike:

My visiting family members are sick of turkey, so we're going to have an anti-Thanksgiving at a Thai restaurant in Queens. There's one that's always open that day, though many others are closed -- does anybody else do anti-Thanksgiving?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm
Uncle Michael:

Have done. I genuinely enjoy the infrequent, traditional fare.
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
Bas NL:

Nice quiet night! Last week a valiant attempt of a music festival here, which i enjoyed very much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm
Uncle Michael:

Nice. I wondered what you all did between cycling seasons.
Avatar 8:02pm
Mister Dobalina:

Is that Thai place the well known spot in Woodside?
  8:02pm
oktogon:

Lajko Felix is really wonderful. I saw him play in 2000 in a park in Budapest. He was rowed across a pond (while playing standing up in the rowboat) to a floating stage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm
Rob W:

Thanks for the vintage scene report oktogon. And greetings to everyone else, thanks for staying with us.
Avatar 8:09pm

I was hoping we'd hear some Omar Souleyman tonight. He was freed yesterday, thankfully.
Avatar 8:13pm
Mister Dobalina:

Wow, what an interesting individual.
  8:16pm
skyline chili:

@Ike: I forgot tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I might be?. not that i mean to do anything that's anti Thanksgiving, it's just that it's a big family get together type holiday of which I don't. So I'm not in the holiday feel for it. I usually get myself a couple of turkey TV dinners, but I haven't been paying attention and forgot to get some for tomorrow. So if you want to count that as anti Thanksgiving, then I guess so, even though it was unintentional.

@Mister Dobalina, you mean Sripraphai? No, but they're good too. I'm not sure but I think they're closed on Turkey Day. In this case I'm talking about one place in the cluster of Thai restaurants on Woodside Ave. in Elmhurst. There are heaps of good ones. This one is called Ayada.
Avatar 8:42pm
Mister Dobalina:

Yes, SriPraPhai was what I was referring to. I remember when they first started up, a tiny hole in the wall spot. Got so popular that they are now what they've become. Ayada looks good, might have to check them out.
Avatar 8:44pm
Mister Dobalina:

Cuban salsa, Puerto Rican salsa, Colombian salsa... all good.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm

Disregard my last text, it just proves what kind of funk I'm in. I thought that today was the 21st and that TS fell on the 22nd for some reason. That wasn't too embarrassing 'oh man, talk about going around with my head in a sling. I'm jumping off now and I'm going to pig out on some comfort food to help deal with this embarrassing cringing feeling. Bye Rob, bye all

@MDob, the best might be Khao Kang. Really great place near Ayada. Steam-table food, but awesome. Sometimes closes early because it sells out of food, that’s how delicious it is. Spicy.
