Re: The Brian Wilson movie. First, it's now available to buy on Amazon Prime video too. I understand why they put the "talking heads" in these types of documentaries, a lot of it is to draw in other fanbases. But in the case of the Foo Fighters' drummer Taylor Hawkins, he's legit. A former girlfriend of his was the daughter of Dennis Wilson's close friend and songwriting collaborator Gregg Jakobson. When they dug up an unfinished Dennis solo track from Pacific Ocean Blue, "Holy Man", Gregg asked Taylor to sing it, backed by members of Queen. Taylor had a voice that Gregg thought was similar to Dennis' in sound and feel, and it's a really good reading of Dennis' music. So Taylor Hawkins is legit as a big fan of the Wilsons in general, had the blessing of one of Dennis' closest friends and collaborators, and has more cred within the fan base than some of the others.

I remember the 90's Space Age Bachelor Pad Music craze when shops in Boston were selling Jackie Gleason and Martin Denny albums for 10-15 bucks because of the covers I think. And anything Esquivel at that time was through the roof.

We sell Frampton Comes Alive and much pedestrian stuff of that ilk very regularly. It's nothing like selling a clean Kinks, Stones or mono Beatles, but it's steady. Clean classic rock is always reliable. Ten or twelve bucks. Considering we generally pick them up for a buck or less, thats a huge profit. Much better than the three bucks I was lucky to make on a new CD in a retail store during the peak of disc sales.
