I picture Chloe with singles in her mouth, racing from turntable to turntable as the show gets more and more frenetic, she and TomDash racing around like Mr. Burns and Smithers when they run the plant all alone. Good dog, Chloe!

I wondered if I'd ever hear this one again! Last remembered hearing it on WFMU about 40 years ago.

I think I taped I Am a Dalek off the radio 40 years ago on a Miami public radio show called Radio Free Living Room.
Used to tape it every week on three or four cassettes, listen for a few weeks and tape over them in rotation
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am
TomDash:

hey there ELGUAPO - always...and thanks for the copy!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am
Handy Haversack:

@Jack McGuire, from articles that circulated when she died, the consensus seemed to be that the band got paid.
  9:19am
Listener Robert:

Funny, jmr3, because I remember making a compilation cassette off WFMU to have some friends listen to it, and "I Am A Dalek" was one of the pieces I remember being on it. I wonder if I still have that in the garage.

G'g grew up in Littleton which is apparently aptly named - with a genuinely insane father who named him Jesus Christ &tc. - & Manchester is NH's biggest town - a suburb of Boston in the very broadest sense - so relocated & Jabbers based outta there.

DJ Guin:

Fun Facts! Now Give Us Your Money!

1. His real name was Jesus Christ Allin. His brother started calling him ‘Je Je’, because he couldn’t pronounce ‘Jesus’. This then became GG.

2. Allin’s controversial stage act included such low key practises as coprophagia (the consumption of fecal matter) and self-mutilation.

3. His first band were called Little Sister’s Date, and covered songs by Kiss and Aerosmith.

4. His lyrics were renowned for being anything but politically correct. For proof, just read the words to Ass Fuckin’, Butt Suckin’, Cunt Lickin’ Masturbation or Die When You Die. Not really for the easily offended. But good to play if you wanna annoy your neighbours.

5. Allin introduced his famed ‘poop punk stage movement’ in 1985 at a show in Peoria, Illinois. When he literally – and deliberately – shat himself onstage, there was a near riot, as people tried to get away from the stench.

Saw the VU doc last week - the more time I have had to think about it, the more I like it.

I always associate sexbomb with the time I played it on the jukebox at Ralph's Chadwick Square Diner in Worcester, Mass, and everyone else left the room and the bartender turned it off after a few minutes.

LOL at that sound. I thought something was broken inside my laptop.

There are a bunch of other pretty fascinating folks in it though. And it's refreshingly Thurston/Rollins/Grohl-free. I think Haynes assumes people viewing it already know how they feel about the band so instead he shows you a ton of footage you probably never saw before (Warhol archives etc) and colors the story with interviews from artists, siblings, even Sterling's widow.
