A rarity. I'm here live. A true rarity for me. Saw the Cabs at Danceteria in 1985. At the conclusion of Crackdown, the cheering audience was greeted with a photo of Hitler on the 23 monitors. Dubversive.

Well, it was The Ritz on 11th Street, not Danceteria. The show is available online 9 May 1985. But I haven't found a bill so I don't see anyone else listed. They were very muich the headliners of course. I'm recording all this, Jesse. I'm getting wonderful rarities -- like this This Is Entertainment. Thank you so much.

This is all kinda strange for me - you listen to all kinds of music for decades and there are major artists who sit plum in the centre of the things you love and yet you realise you have never actually listened to any of their work - blindspot artists I guess - or is it just me?

The search for absorbing β€˜new’ music is often so strong now, and combined with such a massive accretion of past music, sometime I feel that sadly it means not going back enough and devoting proper time to what you already love. I haven’t listened to the Cabs this much in years and years, and now I’m aware of what a ridiculous situation that is.
