Charles Mingus said jazz was a word invented to separate musicians from their money. Music for a Free World brings us together, drawing listeners to the healing power of smooth free jazz. Each week, surprise guests bring their own sides to spin and their instruments of choice to spontaneously jam.

I grew up listening to all of this music being made and my mother would make food and coffee for clients all the time- some would end up staying for dinner…. Most of the early clients felt like family anyway! Such an amazing environment to grow up in

  3:06pm
Chad Fowler:

Having listened to every cut from this session, it's amazing how in sync these two are having never played together. Also two very distinctive and influential saxophone tones. Beautiful. At times Ivo sounds like he's playing soprano on it.
  3:07pm
Chad Fowler:

Jim, these new microphones you have for the horns are really great. What are they called again?

There's a Bartok piece called Mikrokosmos
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:50pm

I only know that (Mikrokosmos) because Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker used it in a dance show. I had a poster for that show in my room at a point
