Glad you included Lola Albright in your FP Parthenon. I first saw Cold Wind in August (1961) several years ago and caught it again recently. It is vastly superior to most American films I've seen (especially for its time). LA gives a passionate performance. Why isn't this film more widely recognized? You can see iston YouTube.

Pauline Kael, film critic for The New Yorker, on Cold Wind in August: "When people who work in the movie industry get together they often talk about the small, offbeat pictures made outside the studio system, and this shrewdly conceived and well-acted piece of what might be called tawdry but frank eroticism almost always comes up." She describes Lola Albright's performance as  intense and arousing.
