My brother had a lovely old red 2CV. It was christened 'The Biscuit Tin' as some of its body panels were about the same thickness. My son used to love prodding them when he was a toddler. We once delivered some components to a French guy and he damn near burst into tears when he was saw it, it made him feel so nostalgic.

We saw John Sebastian solo at Johnny D's in Somerville MA a few years ago- he was magnificent. So many of these Spoonful tunes worked so well as Mississippi John Hurt-style solo fingerpicked versions... plus he did some actual MJH tunes, and a beautiful instrumental version of the Everlys' Walk Right Back...

Used to be in a band with a guy who was in the 2nd edition of The Critters. He told me a few stories about how Sebastian became persona non-grata on the NY scene for a while for narcing out some other folks on the scene. They went to jail and he sort of submerged until his Kotter comeback...

Got to speak w Sebastian several years back, up in Woodstock when he was a guest performer w Ramblin’ Jack Elliot At the Colony.. I was reviewing the show and as I arrived, Jack and John were out in the driveway smoking and kibitzing. They were so nice to talk to, totally welcoming, but after a few minutes, gave them space. The show was absolutely great, btw, w Sebastian’s phalanx of harmonicas adding gorgeous counter-melodies
