	4:39pm doctorjazz: Hi all! Back from a nice hike in Watchung Reservation. After over a year of yoga, I finally figured out what it means to "engage your core". (Bit slow on the uptake). And you know what?-it really does help the back!

	4:52pm doctorjazz: It was, Fam, pooch, 3+ wooded hilly miles, haven't done it in a while, really nice! @Hyperdose, here in Central Joisey, grounds holding up nicely, thank you. Hardly anyone on the trails (it IS Father's Day, and around 90 degrees), but lovely trails (many of them).

	5:04pm coelacanth∅: ...or maybe you're talking about the boy scout cabins? or the bunkers by the (by now probably completely overgrown) landing pad? this is "the forgotten village"; 4-5 houses, a hotel, and this factory. last i saw (decades ago) mostly restored on the outside, all white w/green trim, and at least one was occupied. (by a member of the preservation committee)
	5:13pm HyperDose: I think I've seen the boy scout cabins. When you park by the landing and meer that first fork in the road, bear right and those are the cabins? Never seen the village in person. Spent many stoney afternoons on those trails with a dear friend I lost touch with some years ago.

	5:23pm coelacanth∅: -so long ago. much time spent in "chung" starting in high school and continuing throughout whenever i lived in nj but it's blurry now. but yes i think the village is near there. ...there's a road that leads right into it. (not the case with the landing pad or the scout cabins)

On one side of this row-house, they're rich retired guys that drink a lot of expensive wine every day, and like to have lavish lunches and dinners with as many guests as they can muster, every day, while fawning over themselves and calculating their next acquisition. On the other side, it's a nice even older couple who squint threw the doilies and can't understand that it's downtown Toronto and not 10 acres of space. It's just a fatal blind spot. The only wound will be me getting depressed about it.

	6:33pm LadyChanticleer: Otherwise, we order online... and sometimes you can score at a thrift store or estate sale. The pandemic kinda cramped my style on that front.
	6:36pm StringOFperils: I once met Santiago Jimenez form El Paso (Flaco's bro). He used to run a record store there as I recall, in addition to be a Norteño god on the squeezebox. I guess Marfa might be like the remote place I grew up, where I found ways to fill the emptiness with records form afar.
	6:37pm Andres: That dude from the I Buy Old Records tube channel is scouring Texas. Not sure if he’s been down to your corner.
	6:38pm LadyChanticleer: Oh yeah! I'm not totally sure where he's located, but Texas has a lot to offer.
	6:38pm LadyChanticleer: Obviously I'm a psychedelic/funk nerd and PLENTY of great Texas bands on that front.
	6:39pm HyperDose: They're definitely highlights of my week, SoP. And now that Lady C is competing with Julie for best fill-in DJ, I feel spoiled!
	6:40pm StringOFperils: No kidding about Texas psych. The Moving Sidewalks' 99th Floor is a mainstay of my youth. That stuff really travelled a long way.

(by a member of the preservation committee)

On the other side, it's a nice even older couple who squint threw the doilies and can't understand that it's downtown Toronto and not 10 acres of space. It's just a fatal blind spot. The only wound will be me getting depressed about it.

I guess Marfa might be like the remote place I grew up, where I found ways to fill the emptiness with records form afar.
