	9:35pm Listener Gregory: If I were at a party, and someone asked, "What about jazz today?", I would immediately move to another group of people and try something like "Who do you like for the playoffs?" (There must be some playoffs going on.)
	9:38pm northguineahills: In my 20s, I broke up w/ two girls (at different times), b/c they told me they didn't like jazz. I immediately noped out both times.
	9:42pm Doug Schulkind: This show is like having 15 steak dinners in one sitting. In a good way.
	9:43pm Listener Gregory: My family has the bad habit of telling people I am a "jazz fan." Then I live in terror that the people will ask me to recommend some "good jazz" or ask what I think of the latest Boney James album.
	9:47pm coelacanth∅: i wouldn't call it quits with a woman because she disliked jazz. she may not know what jazz is. like most people.
	9:47pm northguineahills: My friends know my mantra, "every genre, every ethnicity, every geography, and every temporal period". If someone asked me for my favorite jazz, they probably won't like it.....

	9:50pm coelacanth∅: - like...bad rock music is bad, bad reggae is bad, bad jazz is unbearable!
	9:51pm northguineahills: @coel: Jazz is the gateway to every other genre, if you can dig it. (maybe not top 40 pop). Every woman I dated seriously were jazz fans (and most mirrored my music tastes). I agree, there is music of all genres that unbearable.
	9:53pm northguineahills: if you're not intellectually curious to figure out jazz by your 20s, it's not going to work (damn, I'm in my 40s).
	9:54pm Listener Gregory: Looked up that "Going Through" album. It seems to be readily available for $125 - $140 (incl. shipping). Limited edition, apparently. Hmm... I wonder if it's on iTunes for $9.99. (Just kidding.)
	9:55pm coelacanth∅: it's easy for you or i to see it that way, but i've met people who didn't start listening to music until they were 17-18 years old. (poor upbringing if you ask me!) so the timetable is pushed back
	10:02pm northguineahills: @coel: I grew up in a fundy household. I didn't start listening to music until I was 16. It was mostly indie rock, classic jazz, classical classical, and hiphop. Then I saw the Sam Rivers trio and the Mathew Shipp/William Parker duo when I was 19, and the rest was history (i was already into Varese and Cage by the time I was 18)

	10:15pm northguineahills: I once went to a girls' bday party when I was 21. She had Coltrane, Rollins, Stereolab, Wolf Eyes, Neu! and many obscure bands in her record collection. I thought I keep an eye on her. A year later, she made a move on me. We moved to NYC and were together for 3.5 years.

	11:47pm coelacanth∅: i took a break (partly because of the dropouts, partly because of schedule conflict) and the dropouts seem to have ceased
	11:48pm headcleaner: I've been experiencing dropouts a couple of times an hour (and sometimes "tie-ups" lasting 30 seconds or more). Since at least one listener (Doug) hasn't been experiencing any, that strongly suggests its an ISP / neighborhood issue. (And if it gets better after 11p, that's because there's much less traffic throughout the system).
