	5:11pm David (in London): Well, my pleasure Sem. I met him and played with him in the early 90s. At a time when house / dance music was so strongly in the ascendant, you literally couldn't give away an old folkie like him (hence why a very average instrumentalist like me got to play with him). Consequently, he was at a pretty low ebb, but he was still absolutely amazing to watch and listen to. I was really glad that things turned around eventually and that he got plenty of time back in the sun once at the latter stage of his life.

	5:16pm LadyChanticleer: Not surprisingly, he's my go-to when I'm feeling ultra melancholic.

	6:51pm still b/p: Yes, common, familiar and traditional in New England, the B&M canned brown bread. Not so bad, with the signature molasses flavor, though I don't think I'd choose it today. Only had it once as an adult after childhood encounters. The B&M factory is a couple miles from where I live.

	6:53pm coelacanth∅: Franco i've tried, and tried... i cannot seem to make beans good from dried. they're always mealy. 2-3 hours on medium heat, mealy. 4 hours on a wood stove, mealy. i don't know how many hours simmering soup - mealy. i gave up.

	6:58pm coelacanth∅: i have soaked them over night. i've cooked them with various seaweeds, which should soften them because of the glutamic acid. ....i'm certainly willing to keep trying

At a time when house / dance music was so strongly in the ascendant, you literally couldn't give away an old folkie like him (hence why a very average instrumentalist like me got to play with him). Consequently, he was at a pretty low ebb, but he was still absolutely amazing to watch and listen to. I was really glad that things turned around eventually and that he got plenty of time back in the sun once at the latter stage of his life.
