@DiL - definitely dig into Lungfish. Start at the beginning. Each album builds on the next. Their last albums are wonderful meditations on the riff. Aso, check out their singer Daniel Higgs's music, poetry and visual art. He IS The Illustrated Man.

One of my favorite moments in Astral Weeks the book is when the band Orpheus spots an ad for the band playing in SF while they are back in Boston, and it is revealed that their management put another band together to go out on tour as Orpheus and play their songs. Not a totally unheard of practice in those days, but still, must have been a shock.

Personally I’m a big fan of Desmond Child era Aerosmith, but I believe their golden period was s/t through Draw The Line. I like the Jimmy Crespo period and those records they made while Tyler was practically dead from addiction, but I’m probably in the minority. Done With Mirrors is awesome.

Most if not all of the Verve/MGM catalogue was relegated to the bargain bin at Newberrys and Woolworths where I got my copy in 1971. By my fifteen year old standards it was on par with the hippie gurgle you heard on Dragnet. I threw it onto our roof where it stayed for several years.

Wim Wenders wrote that line in Kings of the Road that “The Yanks have colonised our subconscious “, and ZP probably plays well to European dreams of what America looks like.

In a nutshell, the issues at my job involve our computer network going kaput since the 16th. Production, accounting, everything was hobbled. On top of this nearly 3 feet of snow accumulated cumulatively since the beginning of the month. Light at the end of the proverbial tunnel is finally showing this week. My brain is mush.
